Avon Boating and Swan Hopping Day

Avon Boating is sponsoring this year’s Swan Hopping –

‘Swan Hopping’ in Stratford started when a flock of the birds were given to the town in 1867. Every year thereafter the Mayor and townspeople would go out on the river to mark the new swans, and finish-up with a picnic on the river-bank. Avon-boating is sponsoring the Swan-Hopping day to raise awareness of the swans and other waterfowl, and donate money to support the swans on the river.
